Salvation Army of Lafayette
The Lafayette Salvation Army Family Emergency Shelter’s purpose is to meet human shelter needs by providing short term lodging for families, who have become temporarily homeless. We are the only family shelter in about an eight county area that accepts both male and female families, thus allowing families to remain together during the stressful time of homelessness. Basic living needs are provided, as well as, counseling, motivation, and direction for establishing a self-recovery plan formulated by each individual family. Services are offered with dignity and respect in a safe and caring environment. Referrals are made for long-term recovery resources when appropriate for clients.
